Duration:  1 day, 9.00am - 4.30pm

Are you looking to increase your practical skills of clinical assessment, while learning and reflecting upon your practise alongside colleagues?  With this Nursing short course, you will build upon the pertinent aspects of a focused clinical exam with the use of hands-on practical sessions. 

Short course structure and topics covered

This one-day short course focuses on advanced clinical assessment skills for registered nurses from a variety of clinical practice areas.

This course will demonstrate the pertinent aspects of focused clinical exams and support students to participate in the practical application of this exam.

The day will include a case study approach with clinical assessment stations, e.g. cardiac, respiratory assessment and more.

 

Learning outcomes: 

At the end of the short course participants will be able to demonstrate a focused approach to the following:

  • cardiorespiratory exam
  • neurological exam
  • ENT exam

Learners on the course can expect to increase their practical skills of clinical assessment including cardiorespiratory, neurological, paediatric and ENT.

They will also be provided with an opportunity to learn and reflect alongside colleagues.

 

Upon completion of the course, you will be awarded a certificate of attendance.

 

Who should attend? / any entry requirements?

The course is for registered nurses and as a refresher for nurses on the Nurse Practitioner pathway.
