This short course is a recording from the 2025 Ocular Therapeutics Conference with awarded CPD points valid until September 2026. Participants will be able to watch the recordings and listen to the panel discussions in their own time before reflecting on the content.
Short course structure and topics covered:
Each module is 1.5 hours long and comprises 4-5 talks as well as a panel discussion (15 minute each).

Learning outcomes:
- OTOM1 - To learn about new therapeutics in the area of dry eye disease, ocular allergies, glaucoma, anti-inflammatories and immunomodulators.
- OTOM2 - To learn about exciting developments in the area of bioengineered corneas, light-based therapeutics as well as the effects of the gut microbiome and hormone imbalances on ocular conditions.
- OTOM3 - To learn about inflammatory eye conditions and their treatment as well as therapeutics for childhood inherited diseases.
- OTOM4 - To learn about different classes of therapeutics that have made a difference to clinical practice.
Who should attend? :
This course is a not-for-profit postgraduate opportunity brought to the New Zealand eye-care community by the Buchanan Ocular Therapeutics Unit. It has been designed for optometrists, ophthalmologists, pharmacists and senior optometry and ophthalmology trainees.
